Social Media Policy

Friending and Similar Actions

We have listings on Facebook as https://www.facebook.com/craigtuckerlcsw, https://www.facebook.com/isc.couples.workshops, https://www.facebook.com/lisa.ceramicart/,  and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/tuckerworkscouplesworkshops/ and https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/685726401/tuckerworks-studio/. These pages focus on business marketing.

We do not allow comments or discussions, nor do we make friends public or send friend requests to clients. While we don’t expect clients to friend our pages, we accept friend requests. We won’t reply to or comment on posts. We may ask friends to like our pages. Sending us friend request and keeping friends public on your page a privacy issue. Others may see TuckerWorks or Craig Tucker, LCSW in your friend list. If this raises concerns about your confidentiality or privacy, avoid sending a friend request or unfriend us if needed.

We will never share client information or session details on any social media platform. If you have questions, bring them up during our meeting so we can discuss them further.

Following

We may post blogs on this website or share psychology news on X. We don’t expect clients to follow our blogs or X stream. However, if you use a recognizable name on X and we notice you’ve followed us. We might discuss it briefly and consider how it could affect our working relationship.

We prioritize protecting your privacy. If you share this concern, consider using more private options to follow us on X, like an RSS feed or a locked or restricted X list. These methods remove any public link to our content. Feel free to decide for yourself whether to follow us.

We will not follow you back. We only follow other health professionals on X and avoid following current or former clients on blogs or X. Casual viewing of clients’ online content outside of therapy could cause confusion about whether it serves your treatment or satisfies our personal curiosity. Viewing your online activities without consent or explicit purpose may also harm our working relationship. If you want to share online content with us, bring it to our sessions where we can explore it together during therapy.

Interacting

Avoid using SMS or messaging on social networking sites like X, Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn to contact me. These platforms are not secure, and I may not read your messages promptly. Do not engage with us publicly online, such as through Wall posts or @replies, if we have an established client-therapist relationship. This kind of interaction could compromise your confidentiality and might also become part of your legal medical record, requiring documentation and archiving in your chart.

If you need to contact us between sessions, the best way to do so is by phone or on our secure message board at www.tuckerworks.com. Direct email to us at craig@tuckerworks.org or lisa@tuckerworks.org can work for, administrative issues. For example, changing appointment times. Still, the best way to do this is by using the cancelation/edit link on your appointment confirmation email or by going to “My Appointments” at www.tuckerworks.org. See E-mail, Cell Phone, Computer and Faxe Policy for more information regarding email interactions.

Use of Search Engines

We do not typically search for clients on Google, Facebook, or other platforms. Rare exceptions may occur during a crisis if your therapist suspects you are in danger and cannot reach you through usual methods like appointments, phone calls, or email. In such cases, searching online might be necessary to locate you, contact someone close to you, or check your recent status updates to ensure your safety. These situations are rare, and if we take such steps, we will document them thoroughly and discuss them with you in our next session.

Location-based Services

Be aware of the privacy risks tied to using location-based services on your mobile phone. TuckerWorks is not set as a check-in location on apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, or Life360. However, if your device has GPS tracking enabled, others might notice regular visits to TuckerWorks and assume you are a therapy client. Keep this risk in mind if you actively check in from TuckerWorks or if you have a passive location-based service app running on your phone.

Conclusion

We appreciate you reviewing our Social Media Policy. If you have any questions or concerns about these policies, procedures, or our online interactions, let us know so we can discuss them together.
